What does the tooth fairy look like?

As part of our online Tooth Tally project (in which we count the teeth we’ve lost and compare our totals with other Grade One classes all over the globe) we  read a description of what someone thinks the Tooth Fairy looks like. The students have been focusing on reading comprehension lately, developing strategies to make sure they understand what they read. They read the description carefully, then drew their tooth faires.

Here was the description they had to follow:

“The Tooth Fairy has blonde, straight hair and a big smile on her face.  She has small, pink wings on her back.  Her floaty, blue dress has sparkling stars on it and she has matching blue high-heeled shoes. Her magic wand has pink and blue streamers on it and a star that glows in the dark. Sometime a little bit of fairy dust falls from her tooth sack as she visits sleeping children.”

Have a look at their wonderful illustrations.  How do you think they did?  Did they meet the criteria? They LOVE to receive your comments. Just click on the Comment box, leave them some feedback, and your comment will appear once it is moderated.  They would also like to know what YOU thought the tooth fairy looked like when you were a child!

Loved the pictures and appreciated the initials of the artists so I knew right away which one was my grandson’s

You’re doing such a GREAT job and Papa and I enjoy being on the mailing list.

I think all of the students did a wonderful job creating their drawings. I only wish that I still had baby teeth so that all these beautiful tooth fairies would come to my house to visit me!!!

I have one question and wondered if the kids might be able to help (I could never figure it out!)… does the tooth fairy carry the money in a separate bag as the teeth or all together?

JK thinks that they are in separate bags so the tooth fairy doesn’t have trouble finding the money.
GS thinks that the tooth fairy has a little strap on her back and she puts the money in there.
OS thinks that the tooth fairy gives the teeth to the boss and gets more money then.
SC thinks they go in separate bags so they won’t get mixed up and get lost.
TB thinks they are kept in the same bag but in separate areas.
